Diama mentioned that the food bank recently received 6,000 pounds of pears. As I understood it, they actually received about 40,000 pounds. The chefs “just” prepared 3 tons worth of pears in meals. The rest went home to families badly in need of fresh produce.
Not to detract from the awesomeness of that fact.
