I joined the Tulsa Initiative project as Client Relationship Manager in December of 2008. I previously worked for CAP between 2003 and 2005 in the development department. From 2005 to 2008, I left CAP to serve as the Pro Bono Coordinator and head of the children’s program at ProBAR, interviewing and coordinating free legal counsel for Central American children detained at the U.S./Mexico border. A Tulsa native, I graduated from Webster High School, attended the University of Oklahoma (B.A. Sociology/Minor Spanish) and California Western School of Law (J.D.).
A few interesting experiences since law school include, working as a fellow at the Center for Human Rights and Constitutional Law in Los Angeles, interning with IMADR (International Movement Against all forms of Discrimination and Racism) at the United Nations in Geneva, learning to dance salsa in South Texas, and traveling in Mexico and Europe. Through a variety of work and volunteer experiences over the years I’ve spent a lot of time interviewing clients, identifying patterns and areas of need, as well as working with community groups and government agencies to improve services to families and children. Back home in Tulsa (again), I hope to use these skills in my work with TI.
